Anzali Port Development

Introduction

Considering the need for the development of a new basin and marine structures at Anzali Port, SPI had been awarded to undertake the studies in 2007. The scope covers review of previous studies, Basic design, Detail design and supervision in all marine, structural, hydrodynamics, sediment and morphology disciplines. A summary of the final development plan’s features is listed below:

  • Length of the main breakwater (western)= 1570 m
  • Length of the periphery breakwater (eastern) 1600 m
  • Breakwater type: X-Block with concrete reinforcement
  • Maximum tonnage of Xblock= 11 tons (4.8 m3)
  • Volume of earthworks = 1.195 million m3
  • Volume of concrete works = 64.000 m3
  • Area of reclaimed land = 26 Ha in the eastern basin and 3.5 Ha in the western basin
  • Depth of the basin in the final plan = -10.5 m to water level
  • Diameter of the turning basin = 320 m
  • Width of Access channel = 145 m
  • Access channel of the basin inlet = 70 degree to the north
  • Design vessel = 12000 DWT
  • Number of general cargo and container berths = 8 berths
  • Number of oil berths = 3 berths
