Introduction

Golgohar company is located in the center of Iran in Kerman province. Golgohar mining and industrial company is one of the biggest iron ore and pelletizing complexes in Iran. By producing more than 10 million tons of iron pellet in 2 pelletizing plants.

The plant shall consist of process units (sections) and all necessary utility/ auxiliary units to remove the Sox from 5000-14000 mg/Nm3 to less than 427 mg/Nm3 in stack output gas and produce Ammonium Sulfate as a byproduct. To reduce Sox in the flue gas according to environmental standards, different technologies have been investigated, and Wet FGD (Flue Gas Desulfurization) with Ammonia absorber is selected as the best solution from the technical point of view to produce Ammonium Sulfate fertilizer as a byproduct
