Phase II design for River training wall along the Karaj River (Bilaqan to Hesar Bridge section) and environmental studies for the upstream artificial lake near Ferdows Highway Bridge.
Introduction
In this project, across the 1,750-meter-long study area—from upstream of Mahisara to downstream of the Pilots' Compound—the following actions were undertaken: key hydraulic parameters such as flood discharge for various return periods, Manning’s coefficient, river geometry based on cross-sections, and information on existing structures along the river were identified. Hydraulic flow conditions were simulated and thoroughly analyzed using appropriate models. The river training plan was applied to the model, and its outcomes were evaluated.
Regarding the constructed walls, a comprehensive review was carried out based on their existing dimensions. With detailed design and stability checks, the required wall modifications—both in terms of elevation and width—were carefully assessed.
