Phase 1 Studies and Detailed Design (Phase 2) for Flood Control Upstream of the 150-Hectare National Housing Lands in Rudan City
Introduction
The National Housing Project in Rudan City is located 4 kilometers east of Rudan (Deh Barz) in Rudan County, Hormozgan Province, adjacent to the Jiroft-Bandar Abbas road. Morphologically, the site and its surroundings have a relatively gentle slope of approximately 5% toward the southeast (the road). Due to its alluvial fan environment, the area contains numerous dense streams and channels, some eroded to several meters deep, which carry floodwaters and runoff from rainfall to downstream areas, eventually reaching the Rudan River.
In light of the challenges and risks posed by flooding and waterlogging, engineering studies and the design of a flood control system for the National Housing Project in Rudan City have been undertaken. The aim is to ensure that the site remains protected from flood threats caused by upstream waterways and channels throughout the lifespan of the buildings, along with implementing the necessary engineering measures within the project.
