Feasibility study for the Sarab Sefid and Papion River Tourism Project in Borujerd and Dorud Counties, covering a total length of 13.5 kilometers
Introduction
In this project, the Sarab Sefid (Vanai) River in Borujerd County and the Papion River in Dorud County have been identified by the Lorestan Regional Water Company as two key target areas for the development of tourism projects due to their natural attractions, scenic landscapes, ecological potential, and rich vegetation. To support regional development plans and enhance the area’s tourism potential, it is essential to ensure the safety and protection of these rivers against flood hazards and erosion risks. Therefore, in the initial phase, the consultant was assigned to conduct detailed studies and develop plans for flood control and river training for both rivers. Following the implementation of these plans and the partial clearance of the riverbeds, the identification and delineation of landscape enhancement and tourism zone—based on the region’s natural potential—will be among the project’s most important outcomes.
