Introduction

Sur Industrial City, located in the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate of Oman and managed by Madayn, is one of the Sultanate’s most dynamic industrial hubs. Established in 1999, the city spans over 36 million square meters and benefits from an 8-kilometer coastline, offering a prime location for industrial, commercial, and maritime development. Within this thriving environment, this Project has been initiated to design and construct a modern common docking facility for small and medium boats. This project responds to the increasing demand for maritime services in the region and aims to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability for a variety of industrial and commercial activities. SPI has been appointed as the designer and supervisor of the project, bringing proven experience in marine infrastructure and a strong track record of delivering complex coastal developments. Our role covers the full engineering and supervision scope, ensuring the facility is delivered to the highest international standards. The facility will be designed with a water depth of 5 to 10 meters, suitable for accommodating different types of boats, and equipped to support lifting and launching operations using cranes. The project scope covers comprehensive engineering services, including bathymetric and topographic surveys, geotechnical investigations, environmental assessments, and advanced modelling studies. These activities ensure that the design meets international standards while addressing local environmental and operational conditions. With its strategic location and integration into Sur Industrial City’s growing ecosystem, this  Project will not only provide essential maritime infrastructure but also strengthen Oman’s position as a regional hub for industrial and logistics operations. Through SPI’s design and supervision expertise, the project is set to deliver lasting value to both the client and the wider community.
