Construction of the 56-Inch IGAT9 Gas Pipeline – Dezful to Pol-e Dokhtar Section – EPC Contract
Introduction
General Overview of IGAT9: The 9th National Gas Pipeline (IGAT9) is a 56-inch diameter, 1,873-kilometer-long pipeline with a transmission capacity of 110 million cubic meters per day. It runs from Assaluyeh through Ahvaz, Dehgolan, and ends at Bazargan, near the Iran–Turkey border. The pipeline is supported by 17 compressor stations along its route to maintain gas pressure and flow. Section 3 – Dezful to Pol-e Dokhtar: This project represents Section 3 of IGAT9 and includes: Pipeline Segment:
- A total of 83 kilometers of 56-inch gas pipeline, running parallel to the existing IGAT6 pipeline
- The gas flows through three LBV (Line Break Valve) stations located at kilometers 21, 43, and 67, continuing underground to a pigging station at kilometer 82
- An additional 36-inch branch pipeline is designed to transfer gas from the first to the second LBV, allowing interconnection with the AGAT6 pipeline
- Includes a pig receiver station from Section 2 of the 56-inch line and a pig launcher station towards Section 4
- Designed for inline inspection and pipeline cleaning operations
